Hawaii.

Went to Hawaii to visit friends.  Oh my laws.  It was the best vacation ever.

We flew out of Vegas and stopped to see this building.

Adam will be working here this fall!  This is his "Katie you are so ridiculous face."

Then it was off to Hawaii to hang out with these guys.

I wanted to take these windows home with me....surprise.

Hiked the Stairway to Heaven.  Haiku trail.  See those tiny steps along the mountain.  Yep, we climbed that.  So scary, but so beautiful.

Hiking up at 4ish in the morning.

Other than that we lounged on the beach and ate good food.  Exactly what a vacation should be like.  And I didn't take that many pictures, I was too busy enjoying my vacation.
You know it's good when that happens.

And what did our boys do?  Had so much fun with their grandparents, aunts and uncles.  Don't feel bad for them, they were in heaven.

We flew back to Vegas, drove through the night to try to beat a storm coming in.  This happened on our way out of Costco.

Welcome home.  Vegas is looking better and better.

wedding luncheon

Well now that my sister and brother-in-law have been married for 4 months it's time to see some pictures right?

We'll start with the luncheon since they were the worst pictures, and we'll work out way up.  We were in a hurry and there was really no time to take great pictures, just imagine they look better mmmmkay?

We served Costa Vida for lunch.  Some of it we pre-ordered through Costa and warmed up ourselves, some we made.

The banners are doileys folded in half over string, strung between dowels stuck in wine or milk bottles filled with sand.

Soda bottles were cleaned off, wrapped in paper or spray painted with pennant flags inside.

Simple and adorable.

Everyone left happy with bellies full of Costa Vida and tres leches cake!
The decorations were fantastic, but the food was even better.

Check out these two cuties.

And the groom was very happy in his fantastic kilt!

Pet

Why did the tortoise cross the room?

Because Adam wanted him to.

Meet Tyson.

Horrible picture yes.  Did you know it is hard to get a picture of a tortoise?  It is.
Our new pet tortoise.

I wasn't very excited about having a pet.  But I loooooove having a tortoise.  Easiest pet ever.  And I can always catch him.  Unlike doves flying all over my house.

Adam's cousin was giving away their tortoise because they were moving, and she posted on Facebook asking if anyone wanted him.  My mother-in-law tagged me in a comment saying I might want him.  I said to Adam (laughing), "Your mom is crazy, she thinks we want a tortoise!"

Adam looked at me with the most serious look on his face and said, "I do want a tortoise."

He'll be right at home when we move to Vegas later this year.

Aaaannnnnnd he only has one eye.  Arrrgh!  We've got ourselves a pirate tortoise!
