Morning Rituals

Thank goodness for moments like these.

Jack is sure growing! I can't believe it's been over a week. He's a pretty good baby, 1 or 2 times waking in the night. He usually is very very content, but likes to eat a lot during the day. I guess that happens to ya when you weigh 10 lbs right?
Sam, Jack and I went on an adventure on Friday. While Adam went to meetings, we fed the ducks at BYU. Sam was so happy. He was content to walk through the ducks, and immediately after this he ran through the mud. Lovely. It was a success though! Jack was content in his little sling and I had 2 hands available for Sam.

Sam playing with Grandpa Sparks, or ba-ba. Who knows where that came from.

One of just us three. It doesn't really feel complete because Sam isn't in it.

Grandpa with Jack.
So we are surviving being a family of 4. Sometimes it's really hard, but other times it's so easy. Sam is doing really well with being a big brother. He loves the "baby" and always wants to give him loves and kisses. They're going to be best friends!

Tag!

Amy tagged me, and I know my life is pretty boring so feel free to skip...

First one: Post these rules on your blog.
List: 3 joys, 3 fears, 3 goals, 3 current obsessions/collections, 3 facts about yourself.
Tag 5 people at the end of your post by leaving their names.

3 Joys
1. My boys, Adam, Sam and now Jack

2. Cooking
3. Sleep

3 Fears
1. Something or someone hurting my family in any way.
2. At the moment, having a emotional breakdown ( it happens quite frequently after giving birth…) Adam told me, “what’s the worst thing that can happen?” when I was saying that I’m nervous about being alone with the kids and I said, “Having them crying and me crying all at the same time.” Adam thought that was hilarious. Any moms will know what I’m talking about. Or maybe I am just an emotional wreck after having babies.
3. Sharks. I am terrified.

3 Goals
1. Loose the baby weight.
2. Read the scriptures consistently, pray more and attend the temple more often.
3. Have a happy home that my family love to come home to.

3 Obsessions/collections
1. Adam
2. Having a clean organized house
3. Going out to dinner. Love it.

Facts About Me
1. I was married at age 18 and had a baby and graduated from college when I was 20. Now I’m 21 with 2 kids. I’ve done everything young.
2. I hate public anything, speaking, playing the piano, even talking to unfamiliar people makes me nervous and I usually blush.
3. I love the news.

Ten years ago…
1. I was almost 12, and so ready for Young Womens.
2. I was in love with Ricky Shoff.
3. I had posters of dinosaurs in my room.
4. I shared a room with Syd.
5. My dog was named after an elementary school crush, Quinn.

Five things on today’s “to do” list…
1. Nap everytime Jack naps
2. Sweep the floor
3. Fold the wash (some of it has been sitting in baskets since before Jack was born…sad)
4. Cut up the fresh veggies and put them in my fridge and freezer.
5. Nap some more.

Five snacks I enjoy…
1. Rice Krispy Treats (I guess this is a treat…)
2. Fruit Snacks (there are really Sam’s snacks)
3. Graham Crackers and milk

He's Here!!!

Jack Daniel Dayton
September 3rd, 2008
12:41 PM
9 lbs. 14 oz.
22 inches long

Jack made his debut this week and we couldn't be happier! On Wednesday morning, they broke my water around 7:15. I started having lots of contractions as well as extreme back pain. I ended up getting an epidural around 9:30 because of the back pain. I started pushing around 11, and he came at 12:41! I had to push for a long time and they were saying, oh he's just settling in the pelvis. We told them that Sam was big, 9 lbs and that we have a big Dayton head running in the family. The nurse and dr. kinda didn't take us seriously until he came out. There were lots of gasps and the Dr. said, "oh wow, he's big." He had maconium (poop in the amniotic fluid" and had to be suctioned out before he could be given to us. He is such a calm chill baby, they couldn't make him cry hard enough to get the gunk out of his lungs. It took about 20 minutes, then they placed him on the scale. All the nurses were guessing how much he weighed, and when the nurse announced 9 lbs 14 oz, the whole room gasped, including me. I had no idea I was harboring an almost 10 lb baby.

Adam was wonderful for the whole labor. I couldn't ask for a better husband and daddy. At times when I was feeling discouraged, he would comfort me and push me on. I love him so much.

2 of my 3 sweet boys

We came home last night (Friday) and had a pretty decent night. We're all doing really well, even little Sam. He's kinda having a hard time having our attention diverted to Jack, but he'll get used to it. We are loving Jack and the sweet spirit he brings into our house.
My parents and in-laws have lots of good pictures, so they'll come later!

The end is in sight!

They are going to break my water tomorrow! The Dr. I saw today couldn't believe that they didn't keep me on Friday, oh well. But he did say he'd break my water tomorrow if the hospital isn't too busy. Cross your fingers for me!
