Remember forever ago when I started doing my
washroom, but never bothered to follow up on it. Yeah...well here it finally is. I think I actually might be ready to start posting after pictures of things I did last fall. Life's been crazy, but then, when is it ever not.
My wonderful friend
Natalie (and partner in crime over at
Blue Door), came and took pictures. You'll be able to tell which ones are hers and which ones are mine. It's obvious.
So I've always loved my washroom, and it's pretty decent sized so I was excited to do something fun with it. I wanted to create a place where I could be alone, do projects, and be able to shut the door and not worry about little hands getting into my things. Did I mention be alone? Yeah, this room is great for that.
Here are the wonderful before pictures:

Not too bad. But the paint was yucky, and this room had so much more potential.
And here it is now:

I looooove it. The color is a $5 can of oops paint from Home Depot. The desk is actually an old door with glass on the top. It is held up by a painted filing cabinet and extra cabinet I had from the top. The cabinets hide all my projects and extra of everything I have.
The backing is an old crib spring. I'll be honest, it took me a long time to find this. No one was willing to sell me just the spring from their crib. DI finally came the rescue. I can switch out pictures and things that make me happy. Like this naked baby.

Seriously, I have no idea who this baby is, but I think he/she is adorable. I'm pretty sure it's a he. I just can't bear to take him out of the frame.

Old postcards made the wall too. The beautiful writing against the blue wall...ohhh (cute black and white naked) baby it's awesome.
The water spigot knobs are fantastic! To see them closer up go check them out
here. I have more and they are in the Blue Door shop. They are so fun and unique, I have to keep myself from putting them all over my house.
Lockers are now opposite the door desk.

Next to them is my new drying rack! I hang dry most of my clothes, so I love having something that just goes against the wall. Love
Ikea. The hamper underneath it is also Ikea.

But the wonderful drying rack doesn't end there my friends. I also have this.

The washer and dryer are now stacked right to the left of my desk. Who knew stacking them would make life so wonderful. Ask me again when I'm 9 months pregnant, but for now it's good.
The "Say Anything" poster is one of the few things my husband has asked stay around and be displayed in our home. To be honest, I didn't like it all that much when we got married. After seeing the movie and understanding my husband more, I now love it.
Being a thrifter, it kinda takes a while to finish a room. I know exactly what I want, but I have to wait for that item to fall into my lap. Everything was finished in this room except for the crib spring for a long time. Lots of different ideas swam in my head of what to do, but I am glad I waited for the crib spring. It was exactly what I wanted.

Hope you love this room as much as I do!
