Summer!

I think summer is officially here. It has been HOT. That also may be because I am pregnant.
We love summer! It means swimming with friends,

popsicles,

and of course corn!

I've got a question for all you mommies out there, what parenting books have you read that you have loved? Sam has recently started throwing tantrums, so any books on those would be great, but I'm looking for any good parenting book. Anything throws Sam off lately. Last night while we were out to dinner, he started doing one, and instead of trying to calm him (which of course never happens) I started taking pictures. Instead of finding myself getting angry and worked up over his tantrum, it didn't affect me and he stopped after I took a few pictures. Even if you don't know a book, any advise on the tantrums would be greatly appreciated.

Happy Father's Day!!!

We had a good father's day this year! It's fun as Sam gets older to celebrate holidays.
Sam wants to be just like his daddy. I don't mind, because Adam is the best dad. He is so patient with Sam and lets him big all big. Sam wants to do EVERYTHING we do. Like water the lawn...

We went to my Grandpa Dunn's house for dinner. When we showed up, Sam and Riley were matching. We took off their shirts for them to eat and it was too funny to see their little tummies and plaid shorts. So cute. They are the best of friends.

We sat in my parents backyard, which is basically heaven at this time of year. The trees are big, the yard is green, the garden is getting full of all sorts of yummy things, and it is so fun to be out there. Sam of course is obsessed with Pearl, the cat. She usually is really mean and they have had one little incident, but she is now really good at tolerating him. Adam even thanked her and told her he wouldn't be mean to her anymore.

We LOVE summer and we're so glad it's here!

Back to school...back to school

It's official, Adam is going to go back to school. And he couldn't be more excited, the crazy kid. We're so lucky and blessed that he got in. As we spent the last few days looking over everything and weighing different options, it was amazing how it all is going to work out for school. There are some things that we couldn't have planned any better, even though we were not even planning on it!!! I know he's going to do good. While looking at the classes he had to take, there was a section with 11 or so classes and he has to take 3. He said to me, "It was hard narrowing because I wanted to take 9 of them!!!" He is meant to go back to school.

We cut off Sam's curls. Yes, I am sad. He looks too much like a big boy now. I was at the grocery store the other day and the checker lady looked at him and said, "How old are you?" and waited for a reply!!! I told her he is only 16 months and she thought he was 2 years old, maybe 2 and a half. I'm not ready for my baby to grow up! I'm only cutting the back so he doesn't have a mullet, but other than that, the curls are coming back.

We borrowed Rock Band and Guitar Hero from the Daytons and Adam and Sam were in HEAVEN.

The latest face, the fishy kissy. There is another one that he makes when he is mad or distressed that something is not going his way. It is the ultimate crusty. Hopefully I can get a pic soon and post it.

Sam is getting ready for our Lake Powell trip by playing in the sand in the backyard. At first, he wasn't too keen on getting dirty, but then he really got into it.

Last of all, here is my huge wall. If any of you have been over you have seen it's ugly nakedness (and if you haven't seen it, you need to come visit). I finally got some things on it and although it's not done, I am excited.

School

Adam has some news but he would never get on here and actually say it. He barely even tells his family his good news when he has some, I usually have to call his mom and tell her.
We got a letter from BYU yesterday. This was nothing new, they send us things all the time, but I didn't even pay attention to the return address which said, "Graduate Studies." I opened it and started reading it. I couldn't believe what I was reading. It was an acceptance letter to the Physiology and Developmental Biology graduate program at BYU!!! We hadn't heard from them or the U and figured it was too late and he had decided to go down a different path that didn't involve school (he emailed the U and found out he didn't get in there, oh well who cares!). So now we, but I guess is mostly is his decision, have to figure out what he'll be doing this fall. There are so many different variables playing into this decision, not to mention the fact that our baby is due a few days after school starts and that would mean switching insurances...a little scary thought. We've talked about him maybe asking if he could defer enrollment to the Winter Semester. We'll see what happens, but I wanted to let everyone know his good news! I'm so proud of him!!!!!!!
