Remember When...

Ange had this on her blog and I thought it was a cute idea!!!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

Play along if you want to!

So we have been back from Lake Powell for about a week and a half, I guess it's time to put some pictures up right?!

So we got there Monday afternoon and it was HOT. We had a rough evening because we had to keep ourselves glued to the kids. Sam had absolutely no fear, he would walk right to the edge of the marina or boat and put his toes off. He scared us so bad. Because we got there so late, we had to spend the night in the Marina and drive the houseboat out the next day...

Needless to say, Sam was so happy when we got to a beach. He loved the sand. This is the face I got when I said, "Smile!"

Adam took Sam down the slide and just about gave me a heart attack. Sam didn't seem to care one way or the other. I do love this pic because you can see he's making faces at everyone in the water.

He did not like being in the water with a lifejacket, but it was completely non-negotiable. We tried to take him out on the Seadoo but he started to scream about 20 feet away from the boat.

Olivia and Isaak with Isaak's fish. Sam was really interested in the fish.

All these boys wanted to be on Adam's lap at once.

Pops with his fish.

We tried to get Sam to go out on the SeaDoo, it lasted about 20 seconds. He started screaming as we started to drive away. We immediately turned back and gave him to Olivia and me and Adam went on a ride ourselves.

This is what I got when we got back to the suburban and I said, "Smile!"

Still being a ham.

Playing with the cousins at the park in St. George.

We went on a hike that was supposed to lead us to water to play in. We've been there before and you can slide down the rocks, it is so fun. We were SO disappointed when we got there and it was all dry, except for a nasty little pool of water. Good thing we brought some frozen juiceboxes and some snacks.

Sam was the juicebox king.

Poor little Sophie. She was tired and hot.

Pops, Dano, Noah and Rhett sitting by the nasty little pool of water. I think Noah is the only one in this picture enjoying himself.

Adam and Sam on the way back down.

My crazy little sleeper. He didn't have set naps on the trip, and when he wound sleep, he would sleep forever.

Another "Smile" picture...

Sam loved spending time with his uncle B.

Nana with her cute grandkids, minus Noah.

Sam's FAVORITE activity of the night, going down the slide on his tummy.

Adam and Dano on this weird swing thing, everyone loved it.
Classic Adam.

Samuel's first phase of breakfast...
Samuel's 2nd phase of breakfast.

Finally here is a picture of the belly. It is huge. Don't even say that it's not. And it's gotten bigger because a month has passed since then and there is still a month to go! We LOVE In-N-Out and are so happy that there is one in St. George. and by the way, those are waters in my hand, not shakes as my mother thought. I do love the shakes, but c'mon, would I really eat 2?!

This random chair is outside of a gas station in Beaver. Sam wasn't so sure about it.

So there was our trip! It was fun, although it wasn't all at Lake Powell. We love spending time with family and Sam had so much fun with everyone. Hopefully next time Lake Powell will be more fun.....

The Fourth

We had a really fun 4th of July. We had family parties basically all day long. In the morning, we went to the Provo Parade. We are not big paraders, but my aunt just moved on Center street so we had great seats. I think this will be made into a family tradition it was so fun. We rolled in about 9:15, parked right in her driveway, and walked 30 feet to her side lawn and watched the parade. Her yard is kinda elevated, so we could see everything just great. She even has a huge window that you could actually sit inside and watch the parade if you really wanted to.

This was our view from the yard, it was perfect.

This float was a little too much for me. They were singing, "Going to the Chapel" But they had changed it to "Going to the temple."

Sam intently watching the firetrucks.

Sam and Syd sittin' in a chair inside the house watching everyone pack up their parade stuff.

Sam had 2 big spills at Great-Grandma and Grandpa Dayton's. He skinned both knees pretty bad. He needed some loves with his doggie and daddy. If you can't tell by Adam and Sam's faces, it was SO HOT. I personally felt awful. Adam's cousins are all a lot younger than him (age 10 and lower) and they were screaming and running around. Between the heat and the screams, it was awful.

At the Sparks' swim party, Sam just wanted chips.

Grandpa Sparks trying to get Sam to smile.

Sam got more and more comfortable the farther he got away from the fireworks. Grandma's lap was the place to be. He did not like being up close, it made him really worried.

The end of a long day. Tired tired boy.
Just think, next year we'll have an almost 1 year old running around and Sam will be 2 1/2! It's going to be crazy, but so fun.
