randomness

I've been working on this for WAY too long. I so wish I had a before picture for you, so you all could say, "Katie, you're so wonderful!" but I don't. I got it off KSL.

Believe me, it was gross. It had ugly orangy-red sides and plain wood doors. It's not exactly how I envisioned it, but it works. Now for knobs, I wanted to do a dark blue knob, but it looks dumb. Any ideas? I'm thinking bright yellow, and Adam is thinking an Amberish knob.

And of course, I already have my next big project lined up. I get too many of these going at once, but here it is in all it's glory.

Yes it's a church pew. I love it.

I'm thinking a dusty yellow with lots and lots of sanding. Any other suggestions?

On another random side note. Food.

Dine O Round is starting tomorrow. If you haven't heard Adam and I talk about how much we love love love it, this is what it is. A bunch of restaurants in downtown SLC offer discounted meals, 2 course lunches or 3 course dinners. Lunches are $10 and dinners are $15-$30 depending on the restaurant. Some of our favorites are Christophers (best steak you'll ever have), lunch at Tin Angel Cafe, and Cedars of Lebanon (try the Pastilla for dinner, it's my personal favorite Dine O Round place). Some of the restaurants have Dine o Round menus online (Tin Angel) but most you have to call to find out what they are offering. Some offer different dishes throughout the Dine o Round, and some change. It's a really fun way to try some nice restaurants in SL without spending a ton of money.

Love the shiny black! Loos so good...

As for the pew I say leave it as is and throw on some bright damask looking pillows.

Whatever you do will be fabulous!

oh yeah, it looks WAY better now! Awesome! I'd do silver knobs--but I'm a knob-snob.

Sweet bench! I think it will look great in yellow--I like Natalie's idea too with the pillows. Find some awesome fabric and cover those pillows you kept from the yardsale. All fabric at JoAnn's is on sale this week until Saturday.
