Jack made his debut this week and we couldn't be happier! On Wednesday morning, they broke my water around 7:15. I started having lots of contractions as well as extreme back pain. I ended up getting an epidural around 9:30 because of the back pain. I started pushing around 11, and he came at 12:41! I had to push for a long time and they were saying, oh he's just settling in the pelvis. We told them that Sam was big, 9 lbs and that we have a big Dayton head running in the family. The nurse and dr. kinda didn't take us seriously until he came out. There were lots of gasps and the Dr. said, "oh wow, he's big." He had maconium (poop in the amniotic fluid" and had to be suctioned out before he could be given to us. He is such a calm chill baby, they couldn't make him cry hard enough to get the gunk out of his lungs. It took about 20 minutes, then they placed him on the scale. All the nurses were guessing how much he weighed, and when the nurse announced 9 lbs 14 oz, the whole room gasped, including me. I had no idea I was harboring an almost 10 lb baby.
Adam was wonderful for the whole labor. I couldn't ask for a better husband and daddy. At times when I was feeling discouraged, he would comfort me and push me on. I love him so much.

We came home last night (Friday) and had a pretty decent night. We're all doing really well, even little Sam. He's kinda having a hard time having our attention diverted to Jack, but he'll get used to it. We are loving Jack and the sweet spirit he brings into our house. 
My parents and in-laws have lots of good pictures, so they'll come later!

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! He's FINALLY here!! So proud of you Katie, Adam and Sam for your patience and hard work getting baby Jack here. He's BEAUTIFUL! Congrats Dayton family!

Hey! I blog hopped a bit and found your blog. Congrats!!!! You guys aren't still living with Grandma and Grandpa Dunn are you? I would love to come say hi when I am at my parents house. In a few weeks of course when things die down.

I'm so glad Jack is finally here. He is so adorable!!! You are the woman for birthing an almost 10lb baby. The pictures of him are so adorable. Can't wait to see more pics and hear how Sam is adjusting. Does he like holding Jack? I've heard some kids just completely ignore their new brother/sister. Is he doing any of that? Atleast he has grandparents close by to give him attention when he needs. Give baby Jack a kiss from the PA Carrs!!!
YEAH! Oh I'm so glad Jack finally decided to come out and play! You are amazing!

Oh Katie I am so happy for you! What a beautiful baby boy. I hope you're feeling well and the size of that kid didn't do you too much damage... Sam will get used to it after awhile--just keep an eye out for seemingly casual assassination attempts! Congratulations!

Congrats my little katie!! You look so good right after you had him....seriously!!! It's so weird seeing you with two little boys...it still doesn't feel like we're all grown up!
